After Dark, Swan Songs. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. Parks and Recreation ends tonight after seven joyful seasons. It's been one of my favorite shows, and not just because it's managed to sneak in so many references to Game of Thrones over the years. I fully expect the finale to give Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, and all my other beloved Pawneeans the happy endings they deserve. What other TV shows have had fully satisfying conclusions? What TV finales have been most memorable, for better or worse?

Top comments since the last AD: Daeron Martell teases 50 Shades of Ice and Fire, ValyrianSteel jokes about writers who take their time, and Kim of Starfall analyzes the minds of readers. Plus lots of fun new house mottos from Jake Targaryen, val, ladynym, and Titans Eyes.

After Dark, New and Improved. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. Happy New Year everyone! Not that I'm predicting 2015 will be a worse year than 2014, but I'm always mindful that "new" does not always mean "better." Name something new that you expected to be good, only for it to turn out way worse than what you had before.

Top comments since the last AD: villanova highlights us a Thanksgiving-themed comment from scorchiebeanie that will always be appropriate; SaryaStone narrates the trailer for a Christmas movie that Sony definitely won't release; and WhataboutRikon previews what half of the comments in the New Year will likely resemble. Tomorrow we'll share the most prolific commenters in 2014 and other community stats.

After Dark, Sage Wisdom. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. Marty McFly once had the opportunity to offer this bit of wisdom to his teenaged father: "If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything." Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give your younger self?

Top comments since the last AD: Bloodraven Shot 1st suggests a new theme song for Game of Thrones; damskippy suggests a themed wedding with TOTH guests; and SaryaStone suggests a new show to binge watch on Netflix.

After Dark, Issue #1. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. Do you read or collect any comic books? Do you have a favorite graphic novel or manga? Or are you, like me, only familiar with comic book characters because of the movies or TV shows that have adapted them?

Almost all of the top comments from the last month were tributes to scorchiebeanie, or supportive responses to Nymuelina's comments. As requested, I'll also highlight scorchiebeanie's highest rated comment here, from 2012: this brilliant explanation of politics.

After Dark, Out of Tune. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. No episode of Game of Thrones tonight, so here's a fresh open thread instead. What song is stuck in your head most often, if not right at this moment? Do you have a trick for getting songs out of your head?

Some top comments from the past month: ghostlovesinger says Craster's sons aren't a spoiler; impsgramma questions Shae's smarts, while MrFadedGlory argues that Shae isn't quite so simple; damskippy assesses change we can believe in, Ultima changes his mind about changes, and Fierce doesn't feel short-changed for the first time in a long time. A lot of excellent comments to choose from. Keep up the great work!

After Dark, Riddle Me This. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. Know any good riddles? Here's one for you. Two days ago I was in thrall to the goddess Aphrodite. Yesterday I added an H, and I served only Hestia. Today I lost an H, and now I owe my life to Gaia. What day is today?

Some top comments from the past few weeks: themountainthatgolf highlights a job performance review; WhataboutRikon welcomes Mace Tyrell most regally; scorchiebeanie thinks the Hound needs a more cutting repartee; kingbreaker pitches a spinoff we'd all watch; and damskippy sums up the sudden need for mercy. Note that these last two are the first back-to-back 3-star comments in TotH history.

After Dark, Cancel the Cancel. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. A long time ago, I used to watch Veronica Mars, but I haven't thought of it lately at all. But now it's back in movie form, and I'm pretty excited to see it. In fact, thanks to Kickstarter, Netflix, and other new media models, a few shows that were canceled before their time might also get another shot at success. Which shows would you like to see resurrected?

Some top comments from the past month or so: Astalnar predicts a new GRRM book that has little to do with TWOW; Burningtime reminds us of the little people; and Colonel_Green gives props to a little bird, but not the mockingbird. And just a heads up, we might tweak the formula for getting starred comments this month.

After Dark, Horse vs. Bird. Tower of the Hand "After Dark" invites you to mingle with other members and chat about all things off topic. What's your favorite sports mascot? If mascot animals were allowed to participate in their respective sports, which one would provide their teams with an actual advantage? Which would be the least fearsome? Also: talk about the Super Bowl here.

The top comments of the past month: Kim of Starfall does not like AFFC and ADWD; Melara does not like her lack of likes; Split does not like that this earned so many likes so quickly; and val does not like proper use of executive authority.
