There aren't enough words to express how much of a pleasure and a privilege it's been to host all of your thoughts in our weekly re-read through A Song of Ice and Fire. Thanks so much to everyone who's participated, especially our group leaders. We're glad to have had this chance to re-analyze the first three books and we look forward to seeing what new insights can be gleaned from A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.

We currently have a handful of people who have volunteered to lead parts of the next group re-read. We'll be reaching out to them shortly. If you wish to lead one of the weekly discussions, please contact us. We welcome new and returning leaders, though we can't guarantee that you'll get a block of chapters.

Here's the big question, though. It's no secret that George R. R. Martin split A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons for practical reasons, with each book following different characters through parallel storylines. Now we would never recommend that first time readers read the books in any other way but their published order, but we have a unique opportunity here as we re-read these two books.

So: would the community prefer to cover chapters from AFFC and ADWD as they were published? Or would you rather we merge the two books and re-read chapters in a more chronological fashion? If you're curious, you can view the rearranged chapter order that we would most likely follow, courtesy Sean Collins and his helpful annotations. Debate the options in the comments, and answer the poll. (Be aware that this poll is more of a referendum than a determinative factor; there may be technical reasons that have more sway on our final decision.)
