The Championship

So it is down to this: Jaime Lannister vs. Syrio Forel. Only one can emerge from the final battle as the Greatest Warrior in Westeros. MikeLight77 recaps the ultimate fight below.

The combatants entered the field, weary from many consecutive days of battle... Jaime "Kingslayer" Lannister chose to wear the armor of his house, gold and crimson, for this final match. Syrio Forel, the former First Sword of Braavos, lightly garbed, bounced lightly on his toes. Syrio raised his blade to his brow in salute. Jaime returned the honor before assuming his fighting stance. A light rain began to fall as the two men approached each other. Jaime attacked immediately, wanting to end the fight quickly before the weight of his armor became an issue. He moved forward, quickly but without overextending, Syrio barely avoiding the powerful slashes and thrusts. Syrio's counterstrikes found nothing but armor and shield. Jaime continued to press forward, as the rain began to come down harder... and the footing became more treacherous. For the next several minutes, the two continued in a stalemate, until Jaime slipped ever so slightly, causing him to overreach by a fraction of an inch, but it was enough of a mistake for Syrio to capitalize on. While Jaime's arm was extended for a moment longer than intended, Syrio struck at the lighter mail of the elbow. Jaime recovered quickly and struck Syrio in the face with his shield, stunning the smaller man, and opening a large gash just above his left eye. Blood began to flow down Syrio's face and into his eyes, limiting his vision. Jaime realized his advantage and began circling to his right, toward Syrio's blind side. Syrio understood the situation and attacked, stabbing at the groin and armpits of his armored opponent. Jaime continued to avoid and block the attacks and circle, slashing from the right and inflicting several significant wounds. The wet muddy battlefield was soon stained red, mostly with Syrio's blood. The smaller swordmaster mounted one final desperation attack, but it was too little, too late. His blood loss and head wound were too much to overcome. He was unable to penetrate Jaime's defenses. Jaime avoided, blocked, and parried Syrio's last weak strikes, before finally finishing the battle. Syrio collapsed face down in the mud. The rain continued to fall, as Jaime raised his arms in celebration.

All hail Jaime Lannister - the Greatest Warrior in Westeros!
